Apply for a Nexstar Legacy Foundation Scholarship

The intent of the scholarship program is to bring talent into, and enhance and train existing talent, in the industries of plumbing, HVAC, and electric.

The Nexstar Legacy Foundation is devoted to bringing new talent into the home and commercial services industry.

The Nexstar Legacy Foundation 2013-2014 scholarship applications will be re-opened in January 2013.  Please check back at that time. We will offer scholarship funds for qualified individuals interested in entering, or currently working in, the plumbing, HVACR and/or electrical fields. Students must be a citizen of the USA, Canada, Australia or the Cayman Islands.

The foundation offers two different scholarship programs:

Management in Plumbing, HVAC or Electrical Scholarships are designed for students intending a career in management in a business focused on plumbing, HVAC or electrical.  This includes people intending to own and operate their own business as well as people planning to work in marketing, accounting, mechanical engineering, operations or other related position within this type of business.  Applicants must plan to attend school full time for the entire academic year.

1. The Frank Blau Jr. Scholarship for $ 6,000
   This scholarship is permanently funded by the foundation and offered each year.  It is based on merit and open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements.
2. The George Brazil Scholarship for $5,000
   This scholarship is offered for the 2012 year only. It is based on merit and open to all students who meet the eligibility requirements.
3. Jill Pomroy Reed Woman in Business Scholarship for $2,000
   This scholarship is funded by individual donors and will be offered while funds are available.  It is available only to women who are planning a career in marketing in the plumbing, HVAC or electrical industries.

Technicians in Plumbing, HVAC or Electrical Scholarships are designed for students who are participating in or attending an apprenticeship or a trade school program to attain a technical degree for plumbing, HVAC or electrical. 

This category will include the following scholarships:

1. The Barnett Scholarship $5,000
   This scholarship is offered for 2012 year only.  It is open to all students pursuing a technical program.
2. John MacGregor Scholarship
   This scholarship is funded by individual donors and will be offered while funds are available.

Privacy statement

We do not collect information on visitors to our sites other than number of click throughs. All information submitted to the foundation is confidential and used only for foundation purposes. We do not use information gathered through our scholarship application process for solicitation purposes. Emails collected through our scholarship application process are only used for processing of the application.
